ICT for inclusion, integration and development (ICT4IID)
The interdisciplinary research area ICT4IID explores, evaluates and implement innovative ICT solutions related to social change with partners in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. In a globalised world we are all interdependent; connected via the world economy, media and biological ecosystems. ICT is a major driver in the increased globalisation. Our work is aligned to the UN Sustainable Development goals which aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all. Target groups are governments, the private sector, civil society and individuals. In a time when immigration often is described as a burden, our research aim to explore how the resources brought by the new arrivals could enrich the society. Culture and ICT are major components in our studies which are located in three different spaces: 1) Cooperation countries, 2) Sweden (immigrants), 3) Between Sweden and cooperation countries (online, ongoing migration). Especially the development cooperation countries selected by SIDA (The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) are in focus and the immigrants admitted for residence in Sweden as decided by the Swedish government.
